The Glory and the Blood pt. 3
The Glory Is More Than A Halo
As we have seen in context in both the Old and New Testaments, the word ‘glory’ literally means ‘to be heavy, either in good things or bad things’. The glory of God, then, means to be heavy with God’s goodness. It is more than just a halo around a believer’s head, like we see in some religious paintings. It is the weight of God’s goodness in the life of a man that makes him/her what we call a ‘heavy weight’. It is the very essence of God and all that He embodies in the life of a man.
In Genesis 31, when Laban’s children started complaining about the wealth or glory of Jacob, it wasn’t a halo or smoke they saw around his head. They saw money! They saw that God had made him “heavy”. They saw that God had prospered Jacob! They must have wondered, saying to themselves, “Imagine! This boy who came into this place as an escapee some years ago is now controlling all of our father’s glory!” The glory was tangible; it was something they could see. The glory of God in our lives will become evident for all to see and testify!
(1) Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the GLORY of the LORD is risen upon thee. (2) For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his GLORY SHALL BE SEEN upon thee. (3) And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and KINGS TO THE BRIGHTNESS OF THY RISING.
Hallelujah! The glory is upon us! The Bible says, “…His glory SHALL be SEEN upon us…,” and it is not saying that the world will see a halo upon us. It means they will see TANGIBLE, physical effects of the glory, they will see a DIFFERENCE and they will come. Gentiles and kings will want to know and they will come to the brightness of our rising. I am talking about a bunch of born-again, tongue-talking, word-infested believers with a lot of money! The devil hates this but he cannot do anything about it because the shed blood of Jesus has made it available to us in the redemption.
(24) Being justified freely by his grace through the REDEMPTION that is in Christ Jesus: (25) Whom (that is Jesus) God hath set forth to be a propitiation through FAITH IN HIS BLOOD…;
We can only enjoy our money through, “… faith in His blood.” We have to put our trust in what the blood has done rather than what we can achieve in our strength and sweat. Glory!
Say this out loud, “I do not have a money problem, I am heavily loaded!”
Even if this statement doesn’t sit well or feel right in your mouth in light of your situation and present circumstance, I want you to say it out loud again: “I do not have a money problem and I will never have a money problem because of Jesus’ shed blood!”
